Consultation on teaching and research
I place as a priority the attention that my Ministry will give to higher education and research in architecture and I wish to initiate changes commensurate with the challenges of architecture today.”
- Aurélie Filippetti, Minister of Culture and Communication - Venice, August 2012 -
The Minister of Culture and Communication announced at the Venice Biennale, at the end of August 2012, that she wanted to launch a wide-ranging consultation involving all school stakeholders - teachers, administrative staff, students, representatives of the architectural profession, public and private contractors, local authorities and civil society. This consultation, in line with the Assises de l'enseignement supérieur et de la recherche, should lead to a prospective analysis of architecture teaching and research.
This analysis will have to identify the strategic challenges of teaching and research in architecture, the strengths and weaknesses of the system and propose paths of evolution in several deadlines: the triennial budget, the five-year presidential mandate and the next 10 years.
