Concours des Architectes et urbanistes de l'État (AUE)
Architects and urban planners of the State have a vocation to occupy high-level jobs in the public service and contribute, through their technical, scientific, administrative and economic skills, to the implementation of public policies aimed at promoting the quality of life. They perform functions in architecture, town planning, construction, town and country planning, environment and heritage, usually in decentralized departments of the Ministry of Culture (mainly the departmental units of architecture and heritage, where they carry out the missions of architects of the buildings of France) and the Ministry of Cohesion of the territories (Regional Directorates for the Environment, Planning and Housing, Departmental Directorates of the Territories) or in central administration departments.
This competition is open to holders of an architectural degree (DPLG or DEA+HMONP) and has two options: «architectural, urban and landscape heritage» and «urban planning and development». It is followed by a one-year training, common to both options, provided jointly by theChaillot School and by theÉcole des Ponts-ParisTech.
Preparation for the competition is given in several national architecture colleges (Versailles, Paris-La Villette, Lyon, Toulouse).

Chief Architects of Historic Monuments Competition (ACMH)
Recruited by a state competition, Chief Architects of Historical Monuments are civil servants, who are in charge of the restoration work of classified monuments belonging to the State and who advise the Regional Directorates for Cultural Affairs (DRAC) for the constituencies for which they are responsible. As highly qualified project managers, recruited by competition, they are entitled to carry out project management missions on classified historical monuments. In addition, they have carried out project management missions on a liberal basis, without territorial limitation since 2007, either at the request of private owners or by bidding on tenders from local authorities and public institutions.

Recruitment of State Landscape Consultants
The Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition, the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion and Community Relations launch a call for applications among the landscape designers to carry out the mission of landscape consultant of the State, as defined in the circular of 2 May 2012 to the departments in charge of implementing their policies at central, regional or departmental level.

National School of Architecture Teacher Competition
Decree no. 2018-105 with special status of the corps of professors and the corps of lecturers of national schools of architecture replaces the decree n°94-262 of 1er April 1994 on the status of teachers and assistant teachers in architecture schools. It provides for a single status for all full-time teachers of ENSA, whatever the disciplines or disciplinary fields, with two bodies, that of professors and that of lecturers of ENSA.
Two categories of contest
The first category refers to academic criteria, the second category to any other type of criteria (pedagogical or professional).
The selection committees, which are set up by schools or bring together several schools, allow the recruitment of teacher-researchers in accordance with the standards of higher education and the pedagogical, scientific and professional needs of schools. These committees are recruitment boards set up according to specific rules and comprising at least half members from outside the establishment.
National qualification by the NACEC is a prerequisite
The eligibility conditions for qualification are broad in order to reflect the diversity of professional or academic talents and skills. There are five eligibility conditions for lecturers (art. 31) and 6 for teachers (art. 48)

Architects voyers of the City of Paris
Voyer architects of the City of Paris are recruited by competition open to architects. They deal with building permit files, projects of different development operations both within the framework of the CAZ (cooperative development areas) and in diffuse area. In architectural research agencies, they are responsible for all the problems concerning the city’s facilities. In the Urban Planning and Construction Branch, the Roads and Travel Branch and the Parks, Gardens and Green Spaces Branch, they study environmental, public space and regulatory issues.

Chief engineers of local authorities
Architects can take the competition of chief engineer of local authorities. The latter carry out their duties in the fields of engineering, architecture, town planning, rural or urban planning, environment, information technology or any other scientific or technical field within the competence of a local authority.
