Incentive research policy
Incentive research differs from institutional research, not by the nature of its productions, but rather by the conditions in which the scientific community is mobilized. Indeed, this is a dynamic that is more circumscribed in time and conditioned by the irregular pace of calls for thematic projects launched by a given institution on a given research theme.
In the field of architectural, urban and landscape research, numerous and frequent incentive programmes are the subject of a call for research proposals. In parallel or in addition to other research activities, the laboratories of the National Institutes of Architecture respond to these calls for proposals for research in a different way: for some of them, this type of scientific production is the majority, while for others it is still marginal. But for all the units, these research projects provide the means for a renewal of objects, problems, methods and scientific practices.
