Nights of Reading – The Body
From 18 to 21 January 2024
The 8th Reading Nights, organized for the third consecutive year by the National Book Centre on the proposal of the Ministry of Culture, will be held from January 18 to 21, 2024, over four evenings. The public will be invited to gather for thousands of physical and digital events around the theme of the body. The theme proposed by the National Book Centre is that of the body, a way of echoing, of course, the Olympic Games that will take place in the summer. But this theme not only invites us to look at how the authors and authors have understood, in their works, the motif of the «sports body».

The European Night of Museums is an event that takes place in more than 3,000 museums, and nearly 30 European countries! On this occasion, the museums open in the evening, for free their doors and offer varied animations. A unique opportunity to discover the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions highlighted. An arts and cultural education program, "Class, Work!" , conducted in partnership with the services and institutions of the National Education, allows that day a mediation by schools. In 2024, the 20th edition of the event is celebrated on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Rendez-vous aux jardins – The five senses in the garden

These three days are intended to invite the public to discover the richness and variety of parks and gardens, to promote exchanges between visitors and garden stakeholders (owners, gardeners, landscapers, etc.) and to value the many actions implemented, in particular by the Ministry of Culture to study, conserve, restore, create, enhance gardens (remarkable garden label), transmit knowledge and know-how, train art gardeners.
The theme of this 21st edition in France and 6th edition in Europe is "The five senses in the garden".
The event is held in 2,300 gardens in France and nearly 600 gardens in the other twenty participating European countries.

Art History Festival – Mexico and Sport

The Festival of Art History is a national event of the Ministry of Culture implemented by the National Institute of Art History and the castle of Fontainebleau. It aims to highlight the discipline in the eyes of the greatest international professionals but also the widest audience. Music Festival

The cultural summer
Initiated in 2020, as part of the recovery plan, to promote participation in the cultural life of residents regardless of their geographical or social situation, and support artistic activity in the territories, Cultural Summer is now a highlight of the summer period. In 2023, the Cultural Summer mobilized more than 33,000 artists and cultural professionals and benefited 1.5 million people.
In 2024, the 5th edition will take place in July and August in all territories, Overseas included. In Overseas France, the event is called “cultural holidays”.

For its 41st edition, the European Heritage Days will focus on “Heritage of Routes, Networks and Connections” and “Maritime Heritage”. They will allow you to visit heritage sites, often exceptionally open for this occasion!
