Albums of young architects and landscapers
Relaunched in 2001 by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, after a decade of interruption, this award is intended to distinguish and promote architects and, since 2005, landscape architects, of less than thirty-five years particularly talented.
Every two years, a jury, chaired by two renowned figures from the world of architecture and landscape, and composed of architects, landscapers, architectural critics and builders, selects the most promising teams. The winners, French and international, are distinguished for the quality of their projects, the relevance of their architectural, urban and landscape proposals, as well as for the coherence of their approach.
Receive the Award Winner Albums of young architects and landscapers is a prestigious brand, recognized by both the profession and the clients. Far from being merely honorary, this award allows the winner to benefit from a vast promotion campaign that takes place over two years, in France and abroad. Through this award and the actions that accompany it, it is a matter of giving a spotlight to a new generation of professionals, so that it is better recognized by the project owners and so that its access to public procurement is facilitated.
In order to ensure the promotion of the winners of the Albums des jeunes architectes et des paysagistes, major communication and dissemination activities are undertaken for each session by the Directorate-General for Heritage and the City of Architecture and Heritage.
An exhibition is presented at the Cité de l'architecture in Paris, then in the region, in many places of architecture in France partners of the Ministry of Culture, Houses of Architecture, CAUE, National Schools of Architecture, etc.
Designed to appeal to the general public, as well as architects or clients invited to bet on the young generation, this exhibition is an open page on young creation. The exhibition was curated by Lionel Blaisse, editor and editorial coordinator of the exhibition and catalogue, author and architecture critic.
Co-produced with the Institut Français, a version of the AJAP exhibition is specifically adapted to international touring. It highlights the AJAP policy as an example of public policy to support young creation, and is part of the general action of the French Institute for the promotion of contemporary French culture. The scenography is traditionally done by a winner of the previous session of the Albums des jeunes architectes et des paysagistes.
A catalogue, a travelling exhibition in France and abroad and a website are dedicated to the winners.
Finally, a Sponsorship Circle, composed of nearly seventy public and private partners, supports the AJAP winners by facilitating access to the order and disseminating their work.
