UDAP des Yvelines
The departmental unit of architecture and heritage of Yvelines consists of 14 agents including 4 architects of buildings in France who exercise their skills on a territory of 2284 km². The North of the Yvelines department is characterized by the presence of the Seine valley. The southern sector consists mainly of two large landscape and urban complexes.
The North of the Yvelines department
This sector is subject to strong land pressure due to the proximity of the metropolitan area of Greater Paris and the presence of an important road, rail and river transport network. It combines several issues: economic development, densification, implementation of metropolitan infrastructure (port Seine West metropolis), development of landscape assets (Seine Valley, Vexin PNR) and heritage preservation (royal estates, religious buildings, holiday architecture, SPR...).
The southern sector consists mainly of two large landscape and urban complexes
The urban continuum on either side of the hillsides bordering the plain of Versailles in the axis of the castle and the rural south composed of several landscape entities of which the most picturesque is the valley of Chevreuse. The stakes are particular: on the one hand, preservation of the agricultural character of the plain of Versailles and the presentation of the castle; on the other, preservation of the old fabrics constituted, the city entrances and landscape settings (agricultural and/ or forest).
