UDAP du Val-de-Marne
The department of Val-de-Marne was formed from the development of Paris: hospital facilities in the 19th century, development of housing and social facilities at the beginning of the 20th, resort architecture, industrial activities, transport networks, fragmentation of the territory... The result is the existence of very relevant witnesses of architectures around these various themes. These are virtually unprotected (119 protected monuments) as historical monuments, although undeniably participating in the identity of these territories.
The territorial context: 47 communes in Val de Marne ( + 6 communes of Essonne), 119 MH (94) (+ 14 MH of Essonne), surrounded by perimeter demarcated approaches (PDA) and protection rays of 500 meters. , 408 ha (1.7% of the territory) of natural sites including 13 classified sites and 23 listed sites (+ 4 classified sites and 8 listed sites (91), 4 remarkable heritage sites (Fontenay-sous-Bois, Mandres-les-Roses, Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, Vincennes).
Our missions
The UDAP, a decentralized service of the State, provides missions under the Ministry of Culture.
The mission of the UDAP du Val-de-Marne is to promote quality architecture and urbanism that harmoniously integrates into the surrounding environment (decree of 6 March 1979).
In this department, the architects of buildings in France:
- Ensure the application of legislation on architecture, urbanism, sites, historic monuments and their surroundings. They issue land law authorisations;
- Supervise the work carried out on the listed and listed historical monuments of the department;
- Advise and guide planning policies and participate in the development of planning documents. They play an important role in promoting quality architecture and urbanism, especially when the concepts of context and integration are at stake;
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of infrastructure and everything that changes the landscape of cities and countryside.
As part of its missions, the AFB participates as an expert in the rediscovery and enhancement of heritage.
