Meetings, travels, "Danse Dense", The beautiful Saint-Denis scene offers a 100% choreographic triptych. From Senegal to France to Canada, from Ukraine to Brazil Playground, the public is invited to discover the work of the TLA, which settles for ten days off Avignon.
The flagship of choreographic creation in the Île-de-France region, the artists accompanied by the TLA find a field of expression that mixes research and experimentation, in an approach that integrates the territory and its inhabitants. For the third year, the TLA invites the Pôle d'accompagnement pour l'émergence chorégraphique Danse Dense, to share five afternoons dedicated to the visibility of young creation. On July 13 at 7pm, Les Rencontres chorégraphiques internationales presents "Playground", the first international dance festival for children and families in Île-de-France. And then, this obligatory meeting around Radio TLA, on July 13, 14 and 17.
"Yes we are here!
Great joy!"
If Emmanuelle Jouan exclaims in her opening statement "Yes we are here! Immense joy!" , the director of the TLA deplores "the precariousness of the living spectacle" then, forcefully, observes again: "We are there and it is in no way a miracle". The beautiful Saint-Denis scene, from the first edition, aspired to give "visibility to a new model of artistic companionship, inscribing in its heart the singularity of the paths of artists and the need for a shared presence over the long term. This experience opens up as many common spaces for creation, encounters and utopias that are as close to the daily life of the people of Seine-Saint-Denis as opportunities to be connected to the world, to the rest of the world, to the other."
the TLA, a free and atypical adventure
"Today, not only is La belle scène saint-denis resisting, but thanks to the tenacious and faithful support of exemplary public policies, it is helping to make TLA a free and atypical field of adventure," stresses the Director of TLA, who, following a promise kept, announces: 'So here we are again, ready to be shaken by the power of the artists' gestures, carried by both an intimate and political impetus. Each person’s identity and culture are points of support that inform our relationship to the world and the other to escape stereotypes and to encounter otherness in a sensitive way."

If this duo bears the first name of its performers, it is that the question of the "two", already present previously in the choreographers with You & me and Of them, find here a new resolution. With these hip hop dancers, their writing in spiral arms and obsessive trance confronts a new energy.
Dance the Rift/ Lecture Dance Sylvère Lamotte

(excerpts). Since 2012, Sylvère Lamotte has led parallel creations and immersions in hospital and care settings. Until Tout ce fracas in 2021, where Magali Saby, a dancer with a disability, joined her team. This dance conference brings them together again, in the desire to share what connects them as dancers and as humans.

Impromptu / Olga Dukhovnaya
Proposal from Hopak, premiere May 2024. This impromptu choreographic and musical announces the work and research of Olga Dukhovnaya around Hopak, its new creation. For this project, she comes looking for its Ukrainian culture the vocabulary of folk dances in a process of recycling and distortion, which it parallels with practices of today.

verTigem / Paulo Azevedo
Renowned for his hip hop commitment within the Membros group, Paulo Azevedo returns with his new company Gente to amaze us again of his dance that raises the rage and the fury of living. Two bodies in total connection, connected to their history and their environment, in dialogue with the urban and the situations they go through.

I play with love
(because all men are so imperfect and so awful) (work in progress). Sylvain Riéjou lifts the veil on his very next creation. Movie fan Dirty Dancing, he uses it as a starting point to (re)visit the figure of the duo of love, evoking in parallel the link choreographer/performer.

(extract). In Castélie Yalombo, the body is more than ever the place of lived experiences, space of friction and tensions that go beyond the individual. His solo revisits stories and memories, of the territories here and in question with his go black.
Balec / Chloé Beillevaire & Sabina Scarlat
(extract). With a simple clothing accessory – here diverted – two dancers invent a body/object dialogue where the game offers escapes to a more committed discourse.

Magdalene / Chloe Zamboni
(extract). The Goldberg Variations of Bach were the choreographic and musical starting point of this duo, inviting us to ramble, to suspend… The work, taken in its dimension of dialogue, calls to seek what is connected to oneself and to others, in a duo of sensitive states and listening. Own sensations, inner journeys and connections of proximity constitute a journey where otherness becomes palpable in a space in constant vibration.
