Programmed archaeology
The planned archaeology responds to a precise and specific scientific problem, covering sites already known and not threatened by development projects.
It is carried out by actors from various organizations such as universities, the CNRS, the Ministry of Culture, archaeological services of local authorities, associations and volunteers.
These planned excavations are:
- subject to State control via a prefectoral or ministerial authorization;
- carried out by professional or volunteer researchers, authorised according to their skills;
- under the supervision of a scientific staff of the Ministry of Culture.
The RDCA may award grants after assessing the scientific quality of the project.
The DRAC Grand Est is at your disposal a vade-mecum to guide you in the preparation of your application files.
The three stages of designing a programmed search
1/ Transmission of the pre-programming sheet
It allows:
- inform the DRAC of a research project, without the latter necessarily being formalised at this stage;
- to include the projected financial requirements in the process of constructing the DRAC budgets for the coming year.
2/ Annual meeting of research project leaders
Organized by the DRAC Grand Est, it is an opportunity for a collegial exchange around all the projects, to better understand their expectations and objectives, and, if necessary, to specify their contents.
3/ Submission of application files (transaction authorization, grant application)
The formal submission of the application is the culmination of the research project.
