National Fund for Permanent Employment in Entertainment (FONPEPS)
Le Fonds national pour l'emploi pérenne dans le spectacle (FONPEPS), décliné en 9 mesures concrètes, est le premier fonds créé pour soutenir l’emploi pérenne dans le spectacle.
What is FONPEPS?
This is the first fund created to support sustainable employment in live and recorded entertainment, both in the public and private sectors. Aimed at live and recorded entertainment companies, and the artists and technicians they employ, the fund encourages the creation of sustainable jobs.
Why create this Fund?
Announced by the Prime Minister last April, this fund reflects the Government’s desire to promote sustainable employment in the entertainment sector, notably by supporting the hiring of permanent contracts and the extension of fixed-term contracts. The fund has $90 million in full-year funding.
FONPEPS is the result of work initiated at the Employment Conference in October 2015. This was followed by a phase of consultation, led by the Ministry of Culture and Communication , between representatives of companies, employees and institutions, in liaison with the ministries in charge of Labour and the Budget.
When can we benefit?
The FONPEPS measures will be phased in over the fall of 2016. To follow their implementation, register via the accessible application form here.
A quarterly monitoring of the mobilization of measures will be done and shared with the representatives of professionals from January 2017.
