Until July 20, 2023, the models of the 20 Archi-Folies 2024 pavilions are on public display at the Ecole nationale supérieure d'architecture (ENSA) Paris-Malaquais (Beaux-Arts site, Cour vitrée – 14 rue Bonaparte 75006 Paris).
Archi-Folies 2024 is a project of unprecedented scope that brings together for the first time students of the national graduate schools of architecture and landscape. In November 2022, they were given the responsibility to design and build 20 ephemeral pavilions, each representing a sports federation, for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is a unique opportunity for the student architects to carry out a project in its entirety, from design to construction, and to put into practice a new constructive culture in phase with the ecological transition. They actively collaborate with sports federations to design a pavilion as close as possible to their needs. Called «Archi-Folies», these pavilions echo the Folies installed in the Parc de la Villette and designed by architect Bernard Tschumi, sponsor of the project.
These 20 pavilions will take place in the Parc de la Villette, which will host the Club France, a celebration place for medal-winning athletes where all French sports federations will gather.
Labeled Cultural Olympiad, Archi-Folies 2024 is an ambitious project supported and funded by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with La Villette, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), the Organizing Committee of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and implemented by the 20 National Schools of Architecture and Landscape (ENSA-P) under the direction of GAIA.
It receives the support of many patrons: Caisse des dépôts, Construiracier et la Maison de la Construction Métallique, la Mutuelle des architectes français, Saint-Gobain, Vectorworks and Designexpress.
