Theatre, circus, street arts
The theatre service contributes to the implementation of the national orientations of the Ministry of Culture and Communication in their regional declination in favor of theatre, circus, street arts, puppetry and more generally artistic forms, sometimes hybrid, which are related to live performance.

The main actions undertaken in this context are:
Follow and accompany structurecultural and independent artistic teams
- Support for performing arts institutions labeled by the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
- Support for other places such as the conventioned scenes, places of emergence, broadcasting networks, etc.
- Support for independent artistic teams: project assistance, residence assistance, recovery assistance, help with the agreement.
- Support for artistic teaching, vocational training for professional integration and arts education.
- Support for amateur practices and cultural development of the territory.
Advise artists, associations, cultural structures and communities in the development of theirs actions
- Instruct or follow requests for training, diploma, employment, legislation of the show.
- Inform about the tests of the State diploma of theatre teaching.
- Collaborate with other departments of the Drac in the implementation of expansion projects and renewal of audiences.

Employment of minor children in the show
The Labour Code prohibits any minor from working before the age of 16, at which age he is released from school. A possibility of exemption is provided for by law (Law n°63-808 of 6 August 1963) subject to a prefectural authorization issued by the Departmental Director of Social Cohesion after opinion of the Departmental Commission of Children of the Show (Articles R7124-1 et seq.).
The CDES de l'Hérault has put online a notice reminding the regulations and the procedures to be carried out, as well as the file to be completed by employers:
Authorisation for participation of minors under 16 in a live or recorded performance
For the other departments, you will find the Department of the State in charge of processing applications, the Departmental Unit of the Regional Directorate of Enterprises, Competition, Consumption, Labour and Employment (DIRECCTE), or the Departmental Directorate of Social Cohesion (DDCS) on the sites of the prefectures of department or by contacting each service.
