At night, the treasures of museums will be discovered for free under a new light through many exceptional animations, sometimes unheard of: guided and enlightened tours, playful courses, workshops, screenings, shows, games and other puzzles, especially for younger children. The operation "La classe, l'œuvre!" will once again be showcased in the Museums of France. It allows students of all ages to study throughout the school year a work or object preserved by a museum and to design a mediation that they can propose to the public during the 19th European Night of Museums.
The European Night of Museums is organized by the Ministry of Culture and implemented on the territory by the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Île-de-France, with the participation of regional partners: departmental tourism committees, the regional tourism committee, and professionals and volunteers working for museums.
10 first participations, 150 places open, 400 events, 20 places labeled Maisons des Illustres, 87 places labeled Museums of France
On Saturday, May 13, 400 night activities will be on display in Île-de-France in more than 150 museums, Maisons des Illustres, exhibition venues and foreign cultural centres in Paris.
For this 19th edition, two new museums, with the Musée de France designation since 2023, will unveil their collection at the Grand Siècle Museum’s Prefiguration Pavilion (Sceaux, 92) and the Gonesse History and Society Museum’s Prefiguration Space (95).
The occasion also to discover remarkable exhibitions, such as Nurses, silent heroines of the Great War at the Museum of the Great War (Meaux, 77), labeled "Exhibition of National Interest", or Pablo Picasso, Paul Eluard, a sublime friendship at the Paul Eluard Museum of Art and History (Saint-Denis, 93).
The European Night of Museums is a formidable vehicle for discovery. The DRAC Île-de-France intervenes throughout the year to ensure the follow-up of 93 museums in France and 41 Maisons des Illustres in its territory, thanks to the action of the museum service, which provides advice and assistance to these structures, which is particularly significant.

Museum of Romantic Life
Built in 1830 in the heart of the newly developed district of New Athens, the Museum is today one of the last examples of artists' houses built under the Restoration and the July Monarchy. Built on several funds attached to Ary Scheffer , George Sand, or Ernest Renan, the museum bases its identity on the literary, pictorial or musical aspects of the period. It evokes these personalities and their contemporaries in this place that was one of the pivotal points of the intellectual life of Romantic Paris, where all the great names who made the period, such as Ingres, Hugo and Delacroix, rubbed shoulders.
