A scientific and heritage cooperation network on a Rhine-wide scale
The Upper Rhine is today a pool of common life for its French, German and Swiss inhabitants. Over the past twenty years, many cross-border projects in very different fields have thus emerged within this Franco-German-Swiss space.
It is in this context that the Regional Archaeological Service of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of the Great East, the Landesamt für Denkmalpflege of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) and the Archäologische Bodenforschung of the Canton of Basel-Stadt (Switzerland) have wished to foster the emergence of a network of scientific and heritage cooperation on the scale of the Rhine.
Demonstration of this renewed collaboration between archaeologists of both shores, The Cross-Border Archaeological Days will provide an opportunity to present the results and progress of trinational projects and highlight some of the key operations in the Rhine area.
