Music

The DRAC Grand Est implements, at the regional level, the state policy defined, at the Ministry of Culture, with the General Directorate of Artistic Creation (DGCA).

Within the Pôle création de la DRAC, the "Music" advisors intervene on all musical forms: classical music, organs, traditional music, jazz, contemporary music.

The work of the adviser covers three main areas

  • creation and dissemination;
  • advice and information;
  • special education and training.

Its main missions

  • lExamination of grant applications cultural structures and independent teams;
  • theCreation Assistance Request Processing music teams (these grants are awarded by commissions of music experts);
  • the support and advice to professional teams music;
  • the follow-up of specialized arts institutions to music;
  • the monitoring of rankings and requests for classification of conservatories (RCC, CRD and CRC/CRI);
  • follow-up of requests related to Performance Contractor Activity Statements (Performance Contractor Licences).

Request for help

The DRAC Grand Est’s decentralised support for live performance is of two kinds:

Aid for the conventioning (multi-year)

The agreement is intended to accompany the artists' journey, artist collectives, companies and professional ensembles whose dissemination capacities go beyond the regional framework for the implementation of their artistic and cultural project as a whole.
It is granted for two, three or four consecutive years with regard to the evaluation of the artistic and cultural project.  This assistance is intended for the most innovative and artistically confirmed teams whose achievements have a national reach.

Aid to the project (ad hoc)

This is a one-time grant to support the production of a new creation, or to allow the resumption or recreation of a show after a period of interruption.
