The new contract was signed, on October 6, 2022, at the City Hall of Metz, by François Grosdidier, Mayor of Metz; Odile Bureau, Sub-Prefect; Richard Laganier, Rector of the Grand Est Region and the Academy of Nancy-Metz; Patrick Thil, Deputy Advisor for Cultural Facilities at Metz-Métropole, in the presence of Claire Rannou, Deputy Regional Director at DRAC Grand Est and elected officials, administrative and cultural managers.
A three-year agreement (2022-2024)
This new document, concluded for three years (2022-2024), consecrates and reinforces the actions in favor of the generalization of the artistic and cultural education. An action which is based in particular on the meeting of works, artists and professionals of the culture, the artistic practice and the appropriation of works, places of creation and is based on the diversity of the cultural domains.
Ensuring access to culture for all young people
Its objectives include ensuring access to arts and cultural education for all young people on the whole territory of Metz and by extension of the metropolis in thedifferent times of their lives. It is also committed to ensuring equal opportunities by ensuring cultural diversity with increased attention in priority areas defined by city policy and the priority education network.
Metz "100% arts and cultural education"
It is also part of a strong educational ambition for youth and cultural democracy, Metz having been a laboratory city «100% arts and cultural education» since 2019.
During this session, while many actions are carried out by the cultural facilities of the city and the metropolis, the different personalities highlighted the need for arts and cultural education, factor of harmony, openness to the world and other cultures, enrichment of the gaze.
