Community of Agglomerations of Sophia-Antipolis (Antibes, Valbonne, Roquefort-les-Pins, Villeneuve-Loubet, Biot) - The public reading network
Agglomeration community 06 – Alpes-Maritimes – 24 communes – 178 200 inhabitants
In 2003, the Sophia-Antipolis Agglomeration Community (CASA) acquired the competence of "public reading". She has placed libraries at the heart of her cultural development project by building a network of high-quality community libraries. A public reading department has been created to centralize certain services and pool resources. In 2006 and 2008 have been built the Community media libraries ofAntibes and of Waltz. Their cultural activity is reinforced on the territory by an annex in the Semboules district in the municipality of Antibes and by bookshells. In 2011 have launched three major projects to expand this network: two media libraries Biot and Villeneuve-Loubet as well as a Pole Images to Roquefort les Pins. The CASA has also established poles of excellence for each city, in relation to the specificities of each (history, heritage, culture, industry...): the media libraries and future media libraries integrate these subjects in their acquisition and animation policy. The construction or rehabilitation of buildings and their interior fittings (furniture, equipment, computers) were supported by the State under the DGD. Indeed, CASA is a very representative example of the networking of public reading institutions, allowing them to play a more structuring role throughout the intercommunal territory. |
