On May 18, at the Opale Sud Museum, it will be the European Night of Museums, but also the inauguration of two exhibitions: «Hervé IC – Pêcheurs à l'aube» and «À poils et à plumes dans les dunes», which offers a playful encounter with the fauna of the museum’s collections.
In parallel, the collective of authors and musicians «Le Tigre», which is dedicated to writing and declamation in music, is inspired by the works exhibited and the collections presented to compose poetic and committed texts, inviting the public to look obliquely at various topics. The collective ensures a poetic stroll in the museum in the afternoon, then a festive concert in the evening, from 8:30 pm.

Boulogne-sur-Mer Museum
Musée de France - The class, the work
For the European Night of Museums, the Musée de Boulogne-sur-Mer is setting up “Les impromptus – Questionz-moi sur l'art” and invites visitors to spend a moment with cultural mediators and discuss the works that challenge them.
In parallel, the exhibitions "Comme un reflet d'Opale… Fenêtres ouvertes sur le Boulonnais" and "Monde animal" will be open access.
Then, as part of the national system «La classe, l'œuvre!» and echoing the exhibition «Animal World», the students of the Giraux Sannier high school of Boulogne-sur-Mer put themselves in the shoes of mediators and propose a scenario in which the animals of the collections and those of the English children’s literature meet.
To close the event, a ball is organized in the evening, room of the Barbière. The students of the junior ballet of the Conservatoire du Boulonnais will be the guides.

Jean and Denise Letaille Museum – Bullecourt 1917
On the occasion of the European Night of Museums, the Musée Jean et Denise Letaille – Bullecourt 1917 offers a musical show: «I am the enemy you killed, my friend», by the Métalu collective in Chahuter. Spectators will be brought to the heart of the fight, from realistic and poetic texts, from letters from Poilus and testimonies.

Musée de France – The class, the work
Humour is invited to the Cité de la dentelle during the European Night of Museums, with the first edition of the Festival d'humour en dentelle, a festive and entertaining event designed by La Compagnie des Baladins. During the evening, sketches, stand-up and «one wheeleuse shows» will follow one another. The public to separate the competitors, a burlesque tulle and a facetious stylist!
Then, as part of the national system «La classe, l'œuvre!» with a class of CM1/CM2 of the Delaroche school of Calais, the «Duo Sunnah» will highlight the industrial heritage through short interventions throughout the evening.

Museum of Fine Arts of Calais

With the exhibition «Beaux-Visages», the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Calais highlights the works recently entered in its collections, almost a third of the pieces on display. Some have never been seen by the public before.
The same theme naturally seems to connect them, that of the portrait, a focus on faces and bodies. These works are modern creations and belong to contemporary art, new forms of figuration, photography and street art.

Museum of Ceramics in Desvres

Visitors are invited to discover 300 years of ceramic production in Desvres through 700 pieces: pottery, earthenware, porcelain, stoneware. The spectacular collections are presented through an amazing scenography punctuated with videos, games and testimonies.
A guided tour of the museum is also offered to discover the 10 rooms of the permanent route to dive into the heart of the local ceramic history.

Museum of the Navy in Etaples
As part of the European Night of Museums, the Musée de la Marine presents its exhibition «La Passion de la mer, Regards de Ludovic Caloin». Taken at sea, the photographs bear witness to the passion of Ludovic Caloin, a fisherman passionate about photography, who from the age of 16 began his maritime career aboard various trawlers.

Louvre-Lens Museum
For the European Night of Museums and on the occasion of the exhibition «Underground Worlds», the mediation of the Louvre-Lens invites visitors to discover the reserves with the flashlight. The reserves will be accessible as a team and for a limited time.
Two workshops are offered: «Cruise on the Styx», which proposes to reinvent the decoration of the dark places of the Underworld, and a lightpainting workshop, which invites visitors to the museum’s underground. Equipped with flashlights and immersed in the dark, the most curious will be introduced to the technique of lightpainting, which allows to draw in space and create shapes made of light.

Musée du Touquet Paris-Plage

Throughout the visit of the exhibition «Le Touquet-Paris-Plage is displayed, 1882-2023», clues are hidden on the course. The most curious are invited to solve the puzzles and shed light on the dark story that unfolds during this night.
Then, as part of the national program «La classe, l'œuvre!» two projects are presented: a video podcast, «Au tableau!» , on children who interview seniors around past events of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, and a sound atmosphere of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage of the 1900s, a real journey through time.
Flashy guided tours are organized, as well as an unusual stroll and a concert, «Beauty and the beat», in the museum garden.

Discovery centre for sea fishing in Maréis
On the occasion of the European Night of Museums, Maréis, the Centre de découverte de la pêche en mer, invites the public to discover the marine world through various workshops-games.
The museum exhibition is accessible by guided tour, to embark visitors with the fishermen. The exploration begins on the dock, thanks to the reconstitution of a trawler docked at the port and ends under water, nose to nose with the 500 animals present in the aquariums.

Sandelin Museum in Saint-Omer

For the European Night of Museums, the Sandelin Museum offers a self-guided tour of its exhibition «Materials», as well as a focus on traditional Japanese clothing.
Flash tours are organized around the exhibition «Matières», offering to observe the works by stopping on the materials used.
The evening will be punctuated by two events: extracts from the famous play «Musée haut, musée bas», presented by the students of the dramatic art department of the Conservatoire under the direction of Aurélie Demol, and an audiovisual stroll, «Les Voix des Arcanes», a choreographic, musical and video project inspired by the Major Arcana of the Tarot.

Bruno Danvin Municipal Museum in Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise
Head to the Municipal Museum for an original and fun guided tour of the collections, in the form of a giant goose game. The squares of the game, placed on the ground, are illustrated by a museum object. A game will be organized every hour, with 6 to 8 people per group.

History Center of the Memorial 14-18 Notre-Dame-de-Lorette in Souchez
During the European Night of Museums, the History Center of Memorial 14-18 offers a discovery of wargames. The oldest war games, military strategy games, relive episodes of the history of the Great War such as the Battle of Vimy or the Battle of the Marne.
The most creative will have the opportunity to try a manual workshop around wargames (painting of figurines), while others can enjoy a flash tour of the exhibition «War Games».
