Training for library professions
MEDIAL
Medial is one of 12 regional training centres for library professions, established in the late 1980s and supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
It is now a service of the University of Lorraine, whose main missions are:
- the organisation of continuing training activities in the fields of library professions and documentation: courses, study days, conferences, etc.
- the preparation of all persons interested in recruitment competitions for state libraries or local authorities.
The DRAC Grand Est co-produces with Médial several professional days each year, around transversal topics mobilizing book professionals, it provides both financial and design support for these days and finance, for the benefit of the library staff of the local authorities of the region, places within the Médial training courses.
Examples of study days organized in 2016: video games, the museography of writing, the valorization of digital, the treatment of cartographic backgrounds...
CNFPT
The CNFPT is the main actor in the vocational training of local and regional authorities.

Training in the field of bookshops
Associations of independent booksellers in Lorraine (LIL) and Rhine (ALIR, member of the illustration and the book of Alsace, CIL) , offer, with the support of the DRAC Grand Est, a training program for book professionals in the region.
Bookstore Sales Training Centre (CFCL) organizes, every year in Reims, a training for the profession of seller of cultural products. Courses related to the book trades and knowledge of the various actors in the chain are taught and accompanied by internships.
