TV5 Monde, a French-language television channel co-owned by the public broadcasters of the partner governments (Canada, Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, France, Principality of Monaco, Québec, Switzerland), contributes to the broadcasting and promotion of the French language, the cultural diversity of the Francophonie and the expression of audiovisual and film creativity, as well as other francophone cultural industries around the world.
With the term of the current CEO of the channel coming to an end on November 28, 2024, the French Government is calling for applications for a proposal to partner Governments for the appointment of the next president-Executive Director / Next President and CEO.
In accordance with the job description drawn up by the Board of Directors of TV5 Monde, candidates are expected to demonstrate solid knowledge of the situation of the audiovisual media market and their digital transition issues, an ability to work in a multilateral context and to establish close and follow-up contacts with all stakeholders in the chain (representatives of donor governments, third-party governments, public broadcasters partners of the channel, TV5 Québec Canada, international organization of la francophonie, actors of the francophone audiovisual community, etc.) as well as management and organizational transformation skills.
Applications must be sent to the Minister of Culture and the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs by e-mail sent before 9 June 2024 at midnight to: candidature-tv5monde@culture.gouv.fr and candidature.tv5monde@diplomatie.gouv.fr, and stating in the subject TV5 Monde President and Chief Executive Officer Appointment Process – Personal and Confidential ".
Applications must be accompanied by a contextualised memorandum of intent. They may also include any document attesting to the candidate’s competence and experience.
Once the call for applications is closed, the Minister of Culture and the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs will examine the applications and any hearings.
This phase of investigation will enable the French Government to formulate a proposal which will then be the subject, in accordance with the TV5 Charter, of an in-depth consultation of the partner Governments.
At the end of this period, the appointment of the next President and CEO, for a renewable period of five years, will be submitted for approval to the Board of Directors of TV5 Monde.
