On the unanimous proposal of the jury, Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, gave her approval to the appointment of Béatrice Hanin as director of the national scene of Saint-Nazaire, in full agreement with David Samzun, mayor of Saint-Nazaire.
From a programme of artists and works with diverse aesthetics, designed to bring together the most diverse populations and varying temporalities, Béatrice Hanin wants to make the theatre a place of artistic life widely open, anchored in the city and its territory, alongside other cultural actors.
Considering cultural action as a constitutive element of her project, she wants to multiply the times and modes of encounter between artists and inhabitants, notably through programming outside the walls and participatory forms.
This time of encounter with the artists will particularly concern children and adolescents, through various arts education proposals throughout the year and a range of shows and workshops for young people and families during the small school holidays.
Béatrice Hanin is the director of the Rive Gauche, a dance venue for Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray since 2012. She was previously responsible for the educational services of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of the School of Nancy and directed the Atheneum, cultural center of the University of Burgundy in Dijon.
The Minister would like to salute Nadine Varoutsikos-Pérez and her constant commitment throughout her career to provide access to artists and works for as many people as possible.
