Audrey Azoulay, Minister of Culture and Communication, in full agreement with Olivier Carré, Member of Parliament for Loiret, Mayor of Orléans, and François Bonneau, President of the Région Centre-Val-de-Loire, appointed Séverine Chavrier and Maud Le Pladec, the Centre dramatique national d'Orléans (CDN) and the Centre Chorégraphique National (CCN) d'Orléans, respectively, effective January 1, 2017.
These two appointments represent a fine passage of witness between these two artists and their predecessors, director Arthur Nauzyciel for the CDN and choreographer Josef Nadj, founder of the SCC, to whom the Minister would like to pay warm tribute.
Séverine Chavrier and Maud Le Pladec play a new generation of artists. They both share a similar artistic approach, developing a singular work on writing and mixing their discipline with other arts.
Strengthened by their experiences in France but also abroad, nourished by meetings with artists from all over the world, they carry in these two institutions an open vision on their art, through original creations and programming geared towards contemporary expressions.
This is the meaning of Séverine Chavrier’s project at the CDN, welcoming artists such as directors Jonathan Capdevielle and Sanja Mitrovic or the project of Louise Sari, stage designer and visual artist.
This is also the meaning of Maud le Pladec’s project at SCC, which aims to foster collaboration with the field of musical creation and reflection on artistic practices within society.
