Working Group on Contemporary Music (GTMA)
The dynamics of co-construction initiated in 2004 by professional actors, local authorities and the State in the framework of a national consultation, was extended in particular by the GTLIMA (Working Group of Contemporary Music Venues), from the work of the CSMA (Conseil supérieur des musiques actuelles). Since 2011, this group has been linked to the CCTDC (Conseil national des Collectivités Territoriales pour le Développement Culturel). It was, for example, the privileged place of consultation and co-writing of the SMAC decree (Scènes de musiques actuelles) of May 5, 2017.
The State is pursuing this policy of co-construction which it wishes to consolidate and extend to all current music in order to allow a better consideration of the actors in the development of public policies.
The GTLIMA became the GTMA (Working Group of Contemporary Music) in March 2018 in order to better address the issues of sectors and structuring of contemporary music, to better take into account the transformations underway (artistic, cultural, technological, social and economic) and the will to give reality to cultural rights.
The AWG meets in plenary sessions several times a year.
