For a right to arts and cultural education. Franco-German advocacy;, Jean-Pierre Saez, Wolfgang Schneider, Marie-Christine Bordeaux, Christel Hartmann-Fritsch, Observatory of Cultural Policies, July 2014, 28.90 €. The theory and practice of arts and cultural education in France and Germany are the subject of this bilingual and transnational work. It is the result of studies and research carried out over several years by the Observatory of Cultural Policies, the Genshagen Foundation and the Institute of Political Studies in Hidelsheim, to which some thirty authors contributed, and was supported by the Franco-German Youth Office. This book presents the political and administrative structures on which arts and cultural education in both countries is based, and subjects them to critical observation. This analysis is illustrated by the production of a series of case studies that reflect the variety of approaches to arts and cultural education in each country. The authors also present a series of recommendations to open up new perspectives for cooperation in the field of arts and cultural education and youth policy which could, in the future, stimulate initiatives at European level.
Arts and cultural education in national museums and monuments. National Arts and Cultural Education Project: Ensuring access for all young people to art and culture.Report on the mission entrusted to the Louvre Museum by the Minister of Culture and Communication. July 2013. The mission entrusted to the Louvre Museum by the Minister of Culture and Communication on December 14, 2012, concerned heritage institutions, whether they be public institutions or services with national competence. Specifically, it aimed to:
- To define how national institutions can contribute to the national arts and cultural education project;
- To base this contribution on the experience of the Louvre Museum, in close connection with national museums and monuments, but also on the basis of international comparisons;
- To establish a diagnosis to identify the most effective levers and obstacles encountered in the development of arts and cultural education (design of the offer, methods of mediation, internal organization, nature of partnerships, etc.)
- To draw up a list of proposals that could be integrated into the national project and be developed in the specifications of the museum institutions;
- To contribute, on the one hand, to the reflection on ways to better integrate arts and cultural education into the very principle of the scientific and cultural policy of heritage institutions, by articulating in particular, scientific project, link to the population, collections policy and arts and cultural education; and on the other hand, proposing a methodology to address this issue.

Research and development on the Enfance Art et Langages programme. Three years of research (2005-2008), under the scientific responsibility of Jean-Paul Filiod (Université Claude-Bernard Lyon 1 - Iufm), December 2008.
This research, conducted for three years by the Iufm team with schools and artists involved in the program Childhood Art and Languages, follows two reports released in 2006: The place, status and uses of the arts in kindergarten. The example of the Lyon experience Enfance, Art et Langages and in 2007: When arts education is not self-evidentThis programme was created in 2002 by the City of Lyon in partnership with the Ministries of Culture and National Education.
Carried out for the Centre Ressources Enfance Art et Langages (EAL) within the framework of a three-year agreement between the city of Lyon, the Institut universitaire de formation des maîtres de l'académie de Lyon (Université Claude-Bernard Lyon 1), the Academic Inspectorate of the Rhône, and the National Institute for Educational Research (NPRI), this research has clarified how the residency of an artist in a school, over a long period of two to three years, impacts the trades, adult functions and learning of students. It examines art and early childhood practices globally.

The artist and the accountant. University cultural policies at the time of evaluation, proceedings of the National Days 2007 (Nantes and Reims), coordinated by Janine Chêne and Philippe Sarrade, Art + University + Culture (A+U+C), 2008, 10 euros.
A+U+C organized, in 2007, two national days, in Nantes, on February 7, and in Reims, on December 9, which respectively had as themes: Student life/university cultural policies, and Evaluation of university cultural policies. The two subjects being related, A+U+C has decided to gather in this single work the acts of these days.
The first part of this book focuses on the evaluation of university policies. Its implementation will be examined in a theoretical text, then in two areas where evaluation must be conducted: a territorial collectivity and a national scene. The second part focuses on the specificity of university cultural policies in their relation to «student life». There are many points of view.

Arts and cultural higher education institutions under the Ministry of Culture and Communication, 2007-2008 school year, Edwige Zadora, Ministry of Culture and Communication, collection Culture Figures, program Transmission and legitimation, 2008-5.
This annual publication presents a set of indicators for the 120 arts and cultural higher education institutions under the Ministry of Culture and Communication. Higher arts and cultural education in France is characterized by a great institutional diversity. It is operated by public and private institutions of very varied size and status. Some of them are public institutions with a national vocation under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, others depend on the Ministry of National Education, still others are schools managed by local authorities. In some fields, such as archaeology or cultural management and mediation, for example, training is mainly provided by universities.

Youth involvement in cultural practices in rural areas through the action of Foyers Rurales, Laurent Assathiany, Confédération nationale des Foyers rurales (FNFR).
From October 2005 to April 2006, the National Confederation of Rural Households carried out a census of cultural actions concerning young people and qualitative interviews with the people involved in these actions among nine departmental associations of its network. The objectives of this study are to make visible initiatives that strongly involve young people in cultural development where they live, to give elements of understanding on the levers that inform actions, to compare these responses to the offer policy existing within the associations and to help structure the offer in this field in the years to come.

The artistic practices of young people: better knowledge to better accompany. New artistic forms, new economic models?
This issue brings together extracts from the interventions and debates that took place during the meetings organized on 4 and 5 February 2007 by the National Institute of Youth and Popular Education (INJEP) and its partners, on the changes generated by young people through their artistic and economic practices. They testify to another way of apprehending exchanges by obeying neither a commercial logic nor that of a public administration, and by questioning even the associative model. We can also read a practical application of democracy and a questioning of the meaning of collective life and its foundations.
Contents: the Conferences: Cultural practices of young people and socio-economic change in progress; The cultural and economic stakes of the new social movements of the digital; Getting out of the notion of emergence once and for all; the Round Tables: Hip-hop: between opposition and submission to the commercial sector; Role of associations: the example of current music venues; Rethinking economic and associative models; Building in the public space; Making your life a work of art; The process of artistic emergence: a leaven for the economy and democracy.

Evaluate the effects of arts and cultural education. European and international research symposium, Centre Pompidou, La Documentation française, June 2008, 39 euro.
At the initiative of the Ministries responsible for Culture and National Education, the Centre Pompidou organized, and hosted, on 10, 11 and 12 January 2007, a research symposium on the evaluation of the effects of arts and cultural education in the training of children and youth.
During these three days, some 50 European and international researchers were able to compare their work and take stock of the results obtained and the ongoing research that the publication of this book has just described.
Based on the intersecting perspectives of the psychology of child development, sociology, education sciences and cognitive sciences, a dozen round table discussions have deepened the answers to the following questions: what can be evaluated and how? What are the effects of arts and cultural education on cross-cutting skills and artistic and cultural practices? Are there effects specific to the different arts (music, visual arts, theatre, dance...)? What is the impact of partnership arrangements between teachers and artists or cultural professionals?

Dossier: Arts and cultural education: international perspectives, (coordinated by Marie-Christine Bordeaux, researcher, Gresec/University of Grenoble 3)
Although arts and cultural education seems to be a fairly widely shared issue in Europe and beyond, its definition is far from identical from one country to another. One of the cross-cutting issues raised by this theme is evaluation, which was at the heart of the symposium organized last January by the ministries responsible for culture and education. A second highlight is the growing mobilization of cultural actors in favour of arts and cultural education. The contributions in this dossier offer a cross-examination of partners engaged in joint projects, whether for the implementation of actions, training, evaluation or research programmes, to understand the diversity of approaches to this problem by observing a number of situations in Europe, Africa and North America.

I the group, photographs and narrative by Arnaud Théval, fictions by Sylvain Maresca, Zédélé éditions, Brest, December 2008, 120 p., 20 euros.
I the group is the account of artistic projects undertaken by Arnaud Théval involving students, teachers and the educational institution of several professional high schools in the Pays-de-la-Loire region during the 2006-2007 school year. His approach consisted in questioning groups of high school students on their dual identity (their own image and that of the profession to be endorsed), their relationship to their professional training context, their relationship to the imagination of their future profession and to situate themselves collectively in the context of high school. The project was supported by the Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication (Délégation au développement et aux affaires internationales and Direction régionale des affaires culturelles Pays-de-la-Loire), the region, the rectorate of the Nantes academy, the association Plateforme and AnimA productions.

National Assessment 2004-2005/2005-2006. High school students and film apprentices, National Film Centre (NCC), July 2008.
This national report, published by the CNC, gives a precise overview of the various aspects of the system: participation figures (pupils, teachers, schools and cinemas), film programming, teacher training, accompanying actions for students...
It makes it possible to measure the important work carried out on a daily basis by the various regional coordinations, the keystone of this operation, whether it is the circulation of copies in the 770 participating cinemas or the organisation of the pedagogical accompaniment of pupils. This last point constitutes one of the most original axes of the device with the intervention in the classes of professionals and specialists of the cinema.

Candide, the enriched edition, Orange/ Bibliothèque nationale de France/ Voltaire Foundation, december 2012.
Available free of charge on the App Store, this application offers the reader, in a playful and scientifically rigorous approach, to discover or rediscover this major work of Voltaire. It offers many enrichments around the text as well as illuminations that contribute to the understanding of the work. Finally, a function of creation and sharing allows the reader to propose his personal perception of the book.
The application consists of three parts. The Book or Enriched Reading. Focusing on reading and discovering the text, it proposes the synchronized display of the BnF text and manuscript. The voice of Denis Podalydès allows the audience to listen to Candide’s lively and personal interpretation. In one tap, the reader accesses a mode of increased reading that facilitates the appropriation of the work: definitions, variants of the critical edition established by René Pomeau, character cards, places, concepts, illustrations of the text by engravers of the eighteenth century but also by Paul Klee...and all the functions of an epub (research, taking notes...). The World or educational exploration. The map allows to follow the journey of Candide while proposing pedagogical deepenings around the work, with interviews of personalities, an anthology and iconographic contents. The Garden or the personalised appropriation of contents. Collaborative space, the garden allows everyone to organize and comment on the favourites they have created and can publish as a notebook. This part is intended to become an educational tool for schools: teachers can create their own presentation in the garden and invite their students to contribute.

Perspectives on the Economics of Arts and Cultural Education in Theatre, Special-issue n°5, July 2008, Anrat, 108 p., 5 euros.
When it comes to arts and cultural education in schools, as soon as we talk about “generalization”, the question arises of “means”.... financial, human, technical. Here, as in all activities in or out of education, the economic question seems to have taken precedence over any other consideration today. This is why Anrat has carried out a survey in order to approach as closely as possible, and in the most pragmatic way, the budgetary reality of the actions of initiation and theatrical training of young people in school. Beyond the figures and procedures, it is ultimately the human resources aspect that emerged as the fundamental determining factor. Thus, this special series ends with a reminder of the essential objectives of arts education and of the perspectives that open, or not, today for it.
