Record:
The Mimosas, The Brooms, The Blueberries, The Rosehips, The Lavenders are 13-storey towers of the Stribick model, designed by J. Carrot and C. Delfante for the 15,000-home operation launched by A. Chalandon in 1969. They are not linked by any composition but are recorded in a diffuse way in the mass plan of the areas of the ZUP No. 1 of which G. Gillet is the chief architect. This principle was originally supposed to host about fifteen towers of the Cypress type - Paul Trumpet of A. Devin. This form of dispersion of a model on the territory is undoubtedly a completed state of dissolution of urban forms of which only the ZUP could have been the field of experience.
The K barlongue towers are identical and all oriented north-south. They have rather the appearance of planks with pinions tapered by a withdrawal of the central part. The side façades have prominent balconies and holes reinforcing the verticals. The design of the façades is based on the writing of openings defined by the recessed floors, the filling panels between floors and the picture of posts. This device common in modern architecture is redecorated here by the joints of prefabricated panels that reshape posts and floors.
Architectural writing no longer follows the constructive logic of moulded panels. The various rehabilitations between 1982 and 1984 have left interpretations of falsely joyful polychromies and fleuries.
