DRAC Equities
The Department of Theatre contributes to the implementation of national orientations in the perspective of a cultural development of the territory, in terms of theatre and associated arts, that is drama, street arts/ public space, circus arts, object theatre, puppetry, mime, storytelling, storytelling… Since 2019, he has joined the Regional Creative Service, along with the Dance and Music Departments and the Visual Arts Department.
The budget allocated to the Theatre Department is composed of a part of intervention appropriations intended for the support of labels, directors, artistic theatre and associated arts teams, and major venues; and equipment credits for the renovation or even the construction of theatres.
Our missions
- The Theatre Department follows the activity and the management of certified establishments 7 National Drama Centres (CDN) and 9 National Scenes (SN); conventioned scenes and places of creation and diffusion located in Île-de-France.
- National Drama Centres (NDCs)
- It also follows the work of more than 600 artistic teams which may be supported through multi annual agreements or through the creation and takeover project. Experts (college theatre, street arts and circus art) appointed by the Prefect of the region gather in consultative regional commissions to follow the evolution of the artistic creation of these teams.
- It also supports artistic teams through residencies. It gives priority to strengthening the artistic presence in the territories and within the structures of the various creation and dissemination networks.
