A must-see event of the year, the Cultural Summer offers artistic and cultural experiences with more than 8,000 artists throughout the summer. All disciplines are at the rendezvous: theatre, music, dance, puppets, circus, street arts, cinema, literature, visual arts, archaeology... The programming, varied and completely free of charge, takes place in the public space, in the squares of the villages, at the foot of the buildings, by the lakes and rivers, under the trees of the parks and gardens. Atypical frames that allow unique encounters with artists.
In 2023, a quarter of the programming took on the colours of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, by registering in the Cultural Olympiad (cf. article dedicated to the 100 projects of the Cultural Olympiad supported by the DRAC).

The Cultural Olympiad at the heart of the 2023 Cultural Summer!
The Cultural Olympiad is a multidisciplinary artistic and cultural programme, piloted by Paris 2024, which takes place in advance of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris on all French territories, through certified projects carried out by various cultural and sporting actors.
National cultural operators and DRAC have been mobilized in order to generate, throughout the territory and in a participative spirit, projects that explore in an original and original way the exchanges and the links between culture and sport.
In Île-de-France, more than 120 projects selected for the Cultural Summer combine art, culture and sport. Of these projects, 67 are certified by Paris 2024 as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
