The UDAP of Île-de-France
Within the DRAC, the Departmental Units of Architecture and Heritage (UDAP) work for the promotion of a qualitative and sustainable planning of the territory, where landscape, urban planning and architecture maintain a reasoned dialogue between project dynamics and consideration of heritage. At the departmental level, the UDAP constitute the departmental units of the DRAC.
The UDAP participates in the promotion of the heritage, architectural and urban quality, the conservation and the valorization of the monumental heritage. They ensure the preservation and enhancement of protected areas: surrounding historic monuments, remarkable heritage sites.
The departmental units of architecture and heritage (UDAP) of the DRAC Île-de-France ensure, in each of the eight departments of the region, the relay of all the policies of the Ministry of Culture relating to heritage and the promotion of architectural, urban and landscape quality.
The UDAP is composed of a technical and administrative team, placed under the hierarchical authority of the regional director of cultural affairs and under the functional authority of the prefect of department. They carry out interdepartmental missions (Ministry of Culture, Ministry of ecological and solidarity transition...).
The UDAP in protected areas, remarkable heritage sites (former protected areas and areas for the development of architecture and heritage); 500-metre perimeters and perimeter boundaries around historic monuments.
They work in direct contact with those involved in spatial planning policies (local authorities, urban and building professionals and other government departments, in charge of urban policies and environmental protection...).
Missions
- Monitor and evaluate projects carried out in protected areas: remarkable heritage sites and perimeters of historic monuments;
- Advise and promote quality urban planning and architecture;
- Ensure the conservation of monuments protected as historical monuments;
- Accompany owners of unprotected assets.
