Today, rediscovering its contemporaneity and encouraging a participatory approach by a broad public, at a time when awareness of viral emergence is certainly not insignificant. The garden of drawings from May 22 to June 20 in La Villette.
Parc de la Villette – Folie douce – Contributory workshop – May 22 – June 13, 2021
The work imagined and designed by the artist Fabrice Hyber at the request of the association Sidaction is composed of thousands of ceramic tiles.
Since 2006, the Association of Cultural Mediation & Social Experiments (AMCES) has been working to promote and disseminate The Artery. Its debate with diverse audiences revealed the exceptional power of the work’s interpellation.
The current health situation is expected to increase further and the fifteenth anniversary of its inauguration is an opportunity to update it with a wider audience.
The overall form of The Artery, inspired by the logo of the association Sidaction, symbolizes a red ribbon untied.
Project
The contributory update of the work will lead to the artist’s production of large-scale paintings based on materials provided by participants invited to reflect, orally and in drawing, on the pandemic and its evolutions:
- - New diagnostic means - New therapeutics
- - New therapies
- - New means of prevention
- - New representations of the disease
- New sexual practices

The project of creation and mediation should make it possible to involve the Ile-de-France public in a first phase (first quarter 2021), nationally in a second phase (second-fourth quarter 2021). Likely to benefit from a broad communication in social networks, its impact will be sustainable thanks to the work’s roaming in 2021.
