Media and Digital
The mission of the DRAC is to support, at the level of the Ile-de-France region, local authorities and the various actors involved in the issue of Media and Information Education (MIL). This is achieved through several complementary programmes and schemes.
Our missions
Local social media support: local social information media (publications, press websites, radios, televisions, webTVs, webradios, etc.) are the subject of particular attention of the Ministry of Culture because they contribute to the vigour of the local democratic debate by giving voice to the inhabitants of the territories, urban and rural, and are a vector of information and a factor of social cohesion. They enhance the image of the territories, they allow a wide audience to become familiar with journalistic practice, thus participating in the objective of media education. The fund awards operating grants for the editorial implementation of local media. A campaign is organized every year in DRAC in declination of the national call for projects.
Media and Information Literacy Support: As part of the fight against information manipulation, an ambitious media and information literacy plan was launched at the end of 2018. It is a matter of supporting the youth primarily, but, more generally, the entire population, in the proper use of the media and the deciphering of the information disseminated massively on the internet and social networks, skills essential to an informed citizenship.
This EMI plan is divided into two parts:
1. Project support to strengthen support for media and information literacy actors.
2. The development of media and information literacy in libraries, in connection with the "Open More, Open Better" library plan and supported by a training program for library staff and a volunteer civic service program.
