The headquarters of the Champagne House Piper- Heidsieck was realized by the architect Jacques Ferrier, with Michel Hössler, TER landscaping agency, in 2008, in the heart of the vineyard, south of Reims.
Transparency game
Architecture plays here on series of transparencies. From the outside, in a green setting, the large windows give to see the interior of the building. From the inside, it is the landscape that invites itself into the workspaces that overlook green patios.
A golden aluminum mesh covers the more or less glazed envelope of the offices and gives its final shape to this architecture. It offers an analogy with a light bubble pattern "A lace that sparkles, lives, makes the light sing, synonymous with sophistication and timeless elegance" to reflect the image of the House of Piper-Heidsieck.
The label is awarded by decision of the Prefect of the Region, after examination of the application by the Regional Heritage and Architecture Commission. In the Grand Est, 200 buildings are now certified. It points out the buildings and less than 100 years old which are distinguished by their singularity, the innovative character of the architectural design...
The knowledge, recognition and valorization of this heritage is a major issue for the Ministry of Culture, which carries since 1999 the policy of the label «Patrimoine du XXe century”, which became “ Remarkable contemporary architecture » since 2016.
The label aims to identify the buildings and ensembles that must be preserved and valued, while accompanying their transformation, to inscribe them in the long term.
