The 2019 edition of the award, now under the auspices of the History Committee of the Ministry of Culture, was announced on April 2, 2019.
The jury, chaired by Maryvonne de Saint Pulgent, Chair of the History Committee of the Ministry of Culture, was made up of six qualified personalities in the field of cultural policies:
- Françoise Benhamou, Professor of Economics at Paris 13 University
- Anne-Marie Châtelet, professor in architectural history and culture at the National School of Architecture in Strasbourg
- Jérôme Fromageau, President of the International Society for Research in Cultural Heritage Law and Art Law (ISCHAL), Honorary Dean of the Jean Monnet Faculty
- Olivier Donnat, economist, researcher in the Department of Studies, Foresight and Statistics (DEPS) of the Ministry of Culture, member of the History Committee of the Ministry of Culture
- Stéphane Olivesi, Professor of Information and Communication Sciences at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Versailles SaintQuentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ)
- Jean-François Sirinelli, Professor Emeritus of Universities at the Institut des sciences politiques de Paris, Vice-President of the History Committee of the Ministry of Culture
For this second edition, the ministry received a large number of high-quality applications. At the end of its deliberations on 28 October 2019, the jury selected the following three laureates:
- Paz Nuñez-Regueiro : Promises of Patagonia, Araucania and Tierra del Fuego. Strategy for collecting and developing scientific knowledge in France concerning the Far South of the American continent (1878-1937)PhD thesis in Art History and History, carried out as part of a joint project between Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (Argentina), under the direction of Dominique Poulot and Julio Esteban Vezub.
- Marie-Clémence Régnier : Lives enclosed, houses hatched. The great French writer in his house-museum (1879-1937) PhD thesis in French literature under the direction of Françoise Mélonio and Florence Naugrette (Université Paris IV – Sorbonne).
- Émilie Terrier : Towards a new figure of copyright. The affirmation of a cultural public logicPhD thesis in private law under the direction of Marie Cornu (University of Poitiers, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences).
Franck Riester, Minister of Culture, presented the prizes to the three laureates on 19 December 2019.
