La Drac Occitanie wanted to relaunch the accessibility system of the Saint-Pierre cathedral with a new project to enhance the Saint-Pierre cathedral in Montpellier, a major achievement of southern Gothic art located in the heart of the city. The Cathedral of Saint Peter owned by the State, classified as a Historic Monument in 1906, is a religious, political and architectural symbol: a historical monument.

To enhance this heritage, the Drac has set up a visit route composed of several components:
- History of the monument
- Architectural developments of the building
- A look at the restoration stages
- Discovery of the major works of art installed in the cathedral
- Media library
- Accessibility of the monument
The new information cartels of works
The Saint-Pierre Cathedral of Montpellier houses a rich collection of objects and works of art protected as Historical Monuments. To enhance this heritage, nine cartels were installed in the monument. Their contents were enriched by QR codes referring to the pages of the website of Saint-Pierre Cathedral in order to complete the works notices.
Accessibility of Saint Peter’s Cathedral
To meet its policy of arts education and cultural offer for all, the Drac has also developed a tour for disabled visitors (motor, hearing, visual, mental disability) to make them independently accessible, by means of assistance and mediation, the free visit of the Saint-Pierre cathedral.
