, a scientific committee has been set up to oversee the restoration of the triptych of the Master of Moulins, a work of major importance for the French heritage.
It is composed of about twenty expert members from various institutions such as the DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes: regional conservation of historical monuments, the
National Monuments Centre
, the diocese of Moulins, the
historical monuments laboratory
,
the Centre de recherche et de restauration des musées de France
, the Louvre Museum, Paris 1 Sorbonne University, Clermont Auvergne University and the
Royal Institute of Artistic Heritage
, (Belgium). This forum for dialogue is made up of specialists, academics, conservators, restorers, architects, research laboratory professionals, solicited for their knowledge of heritage techniques and materials, conservation-restoration and art history.
The scientific committee in charge of supervising the restoration campaign participates in a dynamic of reflection, in the definition of objectives and choices of intervention of curative and preventive conservation-restoration. The opinions of the scientific committee participate in the scientific and technical control of the State, exercised by the regional directorate of cultural affairs, which is ultimately a decision-maker.
In addition, as a multidisciplinary body, the scientific committee, which will meet regularly throughout the restoration campaign, will contribute to improving knowledge of the work.
