André Besson, Jean-Pierre Siame and André Bruyneel built the Kodak-Pathé building between 1966 and 1968, which was designed to house administrative offices, Kodakolor film development workshops and storage facilities. The company Kodak-Pathé will leave these premises some twenty years later: they are now occupied by the company "Immunotech", specialized in antibody research.
Contrary to the practice of the International Style, which advocated the curtain wall, the architects opted here for a wall pierced by many openings and animated by ressauts. The vertical bars thus drawn act as sun breakers, and produce a relatively austere steady rhythm effect. The entrance, off-centered, is indicated by aluminum shutters, narrower and closer, and by a cantilevered porch. The complex is constructed of raw concrete, which, contrary to the already common practice of prefabrication, has been poured on site. The stilts, bevelled, as well as the roof terrace, inscribe this building, despite its late date, in a Modern style revisited.
