Fact sheets and resources for understanding archaeology
The Directorate-General for Heritage provides brochures and notices to explain the various facets of archaeology.
Titled Archaeology in France, the first document aims to make known in a concise way the missions of conservation and research of archaeology as well as the actors of it, that they intervene in the field of the programmed or in that of the preventive.
The second brochure, published under the title Archaeological heritage, a fragile and non-renewable cultural asset, recalls the conditions of practice of this discipline and particularly those that govern the use of metal detectors.
