In the Hauts-de-France region, more than 50 events are offered in more than 30 different venues, spread over the five departments of the region. Architectural visits, exhibitions, conferences and debates, workshops for young audiences, meetings of professionals in agency, open doors, but also film screenings, Sound walks, drawn or segway rhythms these emblematic days.
Among the many events offered in the region are the architectural tour of the MusVerre (Musée de France) in Sars-Poteries, an exceptional setting of blue stones in the heart of Avesnois and a conference on the public facilities of the Trente Glorieuses at the Ondines swimming pool in Cambrai. These days are an opportunity to showcase the innovative architecture of the 20th century, like this sunflower pool. In Bruays-la-Buissière in Pas-de-Calais, the Cité des électriciens, built by UNESCO, embodies contemporary intervention on an existing building. The public is invited to discover the place through guided tours and workshops.
The screening of the films «Play time» and «Chronicle of an ordinary suburb» in Chauny and Tergnier in the Aisne invites the public to understand architecture through cinema. In the Oise, the MUDO invites the public to discover the architecture and landscapes represented in the collections of the museum and the Maison de l'architecture des Hauts-de-France in Amiens in the Somme offers the exhibition "Remarkable translucent concrete cupolas", economical alternative and architectural solution in the quest for light.
These days allow finally, to focus on the profession of architect with the exhibition "Young talents of architecture" organized by the Architectural Council of Urban Planning and Environment of the Somme and the open days organized in architectural agencies such as the agency Brazier & Nervo in Abbeville in the Somme, the agency Duc-FAVA in Wervicq-South in the North and the agency KONTEXT Architects in Lille in the North.
Omnipresent, architecture is an art of everyday life that everyone rubs every day without paying attention. National Architecture Days are an opportunity to highlight the richness of this architecture that shapes our territories. Three days of demonstration whose objective is to arouse curiosity and develop the general public’s knowledge of this discipline.
Coordinated by the Ministry of Culture, these days are implemented by the Regional Directorates of Cultural Affairs (DRAC).
