The semantic search engine Collections developed since 2007 by the Ministry of Culture, allows to date to directly carry out searches in simplified mode on a cultural and heritage corpus referenced more than 7.5 million items and 5.6 million images.
Unique and transversal access, simple and user-friendly, intended for non-specialist audiences, it simultaneously interrogates in common language in the form of free text search (whatever their forms: plural, conjugated, etc., and extended to synonyms) the various documentary sources of the Ministry of Culture, public institutions and partner local authorities.
The content covers more than 75 databases, 687 virtual exhibitions and 178 websites from the Ministry of Culture and partner sites.
Hauts-de-France Collections is the regional component of the search engine CollectionsIt provides access to nearly 250,000 items covering all regional artistic and cultural fields, including architecture, historical monuments, archives, archaeology, movable objects, paintings, sculptures, illuminations, drawings, maps, maps, postcards, theatre, music, dance… It also makes it possible to publish its resources in the form of identified corpus, such as:
- Exhibition Pierre et Gérard Ansart ;
- Jules Verne ;
- War 14-18 ;
- Villa Cavrois ;
- Breweries and malting, etc.

Finally, Collections is integrated and feeds Europeana, a European digital platform launched in November 2008 by the European Commission. It provides access to digital resources from the European Union’s cultural institutions, which currently has more than 58 million items.
