Of I can’t wait for Sunday! by François Truffaut to Of men and gods of Xavier Beauvois, he had become a familiar face of French cinema. Mr. Philippe LAUDENBACH, actor and comedian, passed away on April 22, at the age of 88.
Born in Bourg-la-Reine (Hauts-de-Seine), Mr. Philippe LAUDENBACH was trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in Paris before starting a career in theatre in the 1960s. He also played numerous roles in the cinema, working in front of the camera of several generations of directors, from Alain Resnais to Valérie Lemercier via Claude Lelouch, Claude Sautet, Éric Rohmer or Valérie Donzelli.
A curious actor, Mr. Philippe LAUDENBACH also liked to lend himself to the game of animated film dubbing. He had appeared in many TV series and productions as Household scenes, Louis la Brocante or Candice Renoir.
I extend my condolences to his family and loved ones.
Rachida DATI,
Minister of Culture
