Paul Otchakovsky-Laurens marked the history of the French edition.
He was the inspired editor of Georges Perec, Marguerite Duras. By founding an exceptional independent house dedicated to contemporary literature, the P.O.L editions, he devoted all his talent to the discovery of authors whose work he never ceased to accompany, such as that of Emmanuel Carrère, Marie Darrieussecq, Charles Juliet, Olivier Cadiot, Valère Novarina.
He maintained a particularly strong bond with his authors and a real intellectual and artistic complicity.
He was also sensitive to film art and had just made a documentary about what was his lifelong passion, «Publisher».
My thoughts go out to his wife, children, loved ones and the P.O.L.
