The April 15, 2019 fire sparked unprecedented global emotion and mobilization.
Since that day, hundreds of men and women have taken turns to stabilize the building and get it out of the pressing emergency, working to safeguard an invaluable movable and real estate heritage, to disengage the vaults, strengthening the structure or scientific research.
Starting in December 2020, the Ministry of Culture will be presenting an exhibition at the Palais-Royal National Domain showcasing nine players in the restoration of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.
These nine portraits, accompanied by photographs by Denis Allard, Edouard Bierry, and Alexis Komenda (C2RMF), retrace the careers and aspirations of these professionals and show their attachment to their missions and to this centennial monument:
- Philippe Villeneuve : chief architect of historical monuments
- Marie-Hélène Didier : Heritage curator at the DRAC Ile-de-France
- Mathieu Delaire : cordist within the Jarnias Group
- Stéphane Deschamps : archaeologist at DRAC Ile-de-France
- Yves Macel : carpenter at Lebras Frères
- Lise Leroux : LRMH engineer, Historical Monuments Research Laboratory
- Catherine Lavier : dendroarchaeologist at the C2RMF, Centre de recherche et de restauration des musées de France
- Jean-Michel Guilment : project manager within the public institution responsible for the restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris

Two videos describing the first stages of the stabilization of the cathedral complete these portraits.
