The Minister of Culture, Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, expresses her deep emotion at the loss of Michel Robin.
A talented actor, Michel Robin has spent his entire life in theatre, film and television. After making his debut on stage in the 1950s with Roger Planchon, he played under the direction of the greatest directors, including Jean-Louis Barrault, Claude Régy and Alain Françon. At 63 years old, four years after receiving the Molière of the second role for «La Traversée du désert» by Yasmina Reza, he was hired at the Comédie-Française as a boarder. Denis Podalydès will entrust his last role to Bouffes du Nord in 2014 in «Les méfaits du tabac» by Anton Chekhov, an author who was particularly dear to him.
At the cinema, the audience immediately recognized this regular of the second roles, which he appreciated for its simplicity, sweetness and sincerity. Michel Robin has distinguished himself in great popular films such as «The Goat», «The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob» or «The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain» but also in the films of Claude Chabrol and Costa-Gavras. Viewers will also remember, among his many roles, the character he played in the series «Boulevard du Palais».
Michel Robin had in him a kindness and a humor that made him popular, both with the public and those who had the chance to work with him, on the shootings and in the theatres, and especially at the Comédie-French where he leaves an emotional memory to the Troupe.
The Minister of Culture extends her sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.
