Strong of the enthusiasm of the 1era edition of «Creation in progress» currently taking place in 101 schools and involving 130 artists, Audrey AZOULAY, Minister of Culture and Communication and Najat VALLAUD-BELKACEM, Minister of National Education, Higher Education and Research, call for applications for the 2th edition, led by Ateliers Médicis, for the 2017/2018 school year.
It is aimed at all young artists who have graduated from cultural higher education since 2013 and will be open until the end of June. The scheme is ramping up and will result in 150 residencies in the 2017-2018 school year, with the objective of involving at least 7,500 students.
«Création en cours» is an innovative device launched in 2016-2017 by the Ministry of Culture and Communication and the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research and managed by the Ateliers Médicis (Clichy-Montfermeil). Its goal is to install in the heart of the schools most distant from a cultural offer, in each department of metropolis and overseas, young artists in residence graduates for less than five years, in order for them to develop creative projects shared with the students, in a process of co-construction with the teaching teams.
For the 1era 130 artists have settled in 101 schools working alongside 300 teachers and more than 5,000 students in cycle 3 (Grades 4, 5, 6)th). This year, all artistic disciplines have been represented: live performances, books, cinema, architecture, visual arts, design, digital arts, etc. Since January, each artist has been filling in a logbook on the site of the operation.
