The price of French audio
For its 5th edition, the Paris Podcast Festival listened to the sweetness. Listening to ourselves and others, the podcast has taught us, through creations, episodes and series, to listen to stories that invent new horizons.
Since the beginning of the festival, the DGLFLF has supported the Francophone Audio Award.
This year, we had to choose from 91 French podcasts from Canada, Senegal, Belgium, Tunisia, Russia, Algeria, Switzerland etc. Five candidates caught the jury’s attention.
- Summaries III - The Catherine Daviau case (Canada)
- Supervised sexuality (Belgium)
- Memoirs - Muriel (Belgium)
- Women’s Conversations - Coumba Touré, an invisible giant committed to the visibility of today’s black women (Senegal)
- The Village: murders, fighting, pride (Canada).
Presentation of the Francophone Podcast Award
For the francophone category, supported by the DGLFLF, the award was presented on October 23 to Maude Petel-Légaré & Claudia Larochelle, for the podcast Summaries III - The Catherine Daviau case.
A police-like podcast, it focuses on the investigation of journalist Claudia Larochelle and director Maude Petel-Légaré into the case of Catherine Daviau. This is a young woman of twenty-six years found dead in her apartment in Rosemont. All the evidence points to murder, but the culprit remains untraceable. In order to better understand the events, the two investigators are meeting with Nadine Landry, a detective sergeant in major crimes at the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) who, since 2018, has been in charge of Catherine Daviau’s case.
For the record, Canada was the guest country this year.
