Support for research and scientific events
In both central administration and DRAC, the policy of the Ministry of Culture in the field of ethnology is based on arrangements for financing and accompanying projects.
Support for research
The work supported by the Ministry of Culture in the field of ethnology consists of:'studies from applied research, informing ethnological heritage public policy, and reports from the research programmes tendered.
The research programmes
The successive programmes launched by the Ethnological Heritage Mission, the Ethnology Mission and the Ministry of Culture by means of a call for tenders have resulted in a series of research reports, which have been Heritage and Photography Library.
The Audois Group of Ethnographic Research and Animation (GARAE) and the National Library of France are also recipients of the reports received.
It is also common for all or part of the reports to be subsequently published, or collections of the Ethnology of France to the Ministry, or to an institutional or private publisher.
Studies
Studies are applied research, carried out to help make public policy decisions about ethnological heritage. Since the beginning, the studies have been archived and kept in the National Archives.
Support for the organisation of scientific conferences, events and publications
As part of the implementation of the heritage policy in the field of ethnology of France, the Ministry of Culture (Directorate General of Heritage, Department of Research Management and Scientific Policy) supports and accompanies, after examination of applications received, seminars, events and publications.
