The souse to the pluralism of film broadcasting
- by monitoring and assisting certain events (festivals, meetings) working to discover non-dominant forms of cinema (films by authors, films not widely distributed, etc.), with a view to broadening audiences, meeting with professionals and developing a sustainable activity year-round;
- through the follow-up and assistance provided to local cinema networks art and essay: TheCASFAA (association of art & essay cinemas in the Great Southwest) and theACCILR (association des cinémas et circuits itinérants art et essai du Languedoc-Roussillon);
- by the transmission of opinions on requests for art and test labelling of cinematographic equipment and the organisation of interregional committees dealing with this subject.
The participation to a coherent planning of the territory in terms of places of cinematographic diffusion
- by the permanent observation of the room park;
- by examining applications for the opening of cinemas with more than 300 seats filed with the Departmental Commission for Commercial Development in Cinematography | CDAC;
- by investigating requests for the creation or extension of itinerant circuits;
- by examining applications for authorization of open-air cinema;
- by sending reasoned opinions on projects for the creation, extension or modernization of equipment requesting financial assistance from the CNC.
The constructiona shared film culture
Implementation, monitoring and evaluation:
- national image education schemes ("School and Cinema", "Film College", "Young and High School Cinema");
- school teaching, workshops or residences in connection with the ministries in charge of Education and Agriculture;
- workshops on audiovisual practice, film analysis and the development of film culture outside school time;
- the "Image Smugglers" system in connection with the city’s policy;
- the regional centre for arts education and training in cinema, audiovisual and multimedia, Occitania films.
Support for ddevelopment of film and multimedia creation in the region
- by the concerted elaboration of a convention of cooperation cinematographic and audiovisual with the Region, the CNC and Toulouse Métropole;
- monitoring the regional support fund for film, audiovisual and multimedia creation;
- by supporting the association Occitanie films (hosting filming, supporting films related to the territory, promoting the region’s creators and professionals, structuring the sector, image education).
Conservation and the dissemination of film heritage
- by monitoring the collection, conservation and exploitation of film heritage developed by the Cinémathèque de Toulouse and the Euro-regional film library Institut Jean Vigo de Perpignan, in connection with the TNC.
