Visiting a museum is a pleasure. The European Night of Museums, created by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, proposes on Saturday, May 17, to fully live this experience by discovering these places at times conducive to mystery and celebration.
For this 10e more than 3,000 museums in Europe, including nearly 1,300 in France, open their doors free of charge and offer you to discover the richness and diversity of their collections through a multitude of animations combining music, dance, contemporary art, tales, readings, festive events, unusual programming, or ephemeral creations. All these events promote, for one night, another dialogue with our heritage.
For the 2e year, the partnership with the Ministry of National Education was renewed for the operation The class, the work! which invites students to become “cultural smugglers” by transmitting their knowledge and their looks to the Night’s visitors and their families.
In the Midi-Pyrénées, nine institutions, out of the forty-five that are opening their doors this year, have participated in this operation: the Saint-Raymond and Augustins Museums in Toulouse (31), the Jacobins Museum in Auch (32), the Musée des Écritures in Figeac (46), the Massey Museum in Tarbes (65), the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Albi (81), the Goya Museum in Castres (81), the Marguerite-Vidal Museum in Moissac (82) and the Ingres Museum in Montauban (82).
So that everyone can organize their Museum night, the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs publishes a regional guide on which are listed, by department, all the open museums and the proposed animations. This guide is also available online on the Drac.
