Information resources
The Regional Archaeology Service produces and maintains documentary resources that can be consulted by the public, subject to conditions, at the three DRAC sites: Strasbourg, Châlons-en-Champagne and Metz.
The archaeological map
The Regional Archaeology Service is responsible for collecting all archaeological information on the region. Each archaeological site or entity is the subject of a dossier gathering administrative (discovery context) and scientific data (published or unpublished sources), for completeness.
This information is also present in a national database (the archaeological map) linked to a geographic information system.

Search reports and documentation
Each archaeological operation gives rise to the writing of a report summarizing the discoveries on the site. The reports can be consulted, subject to conditions and by appointment with the department concerned.
At the end of a preventive archaeology operation, all the documentation generated in the field and in post-excavation is given to the Regional Service of Archaeology, before being transferred to the Departmental Archives. The result of research at regional level, this fund contains tens of thousands of documents.
Strasbourg site
These are tens of thousands of documents on various media (glass plates, negatives, slides, various readings, silver photographs and digital documents, etc.), from the late 1940s to the present day. The inventory is in progress, thanks to the collaboration of archaeology operators. The database is searchable on site and lists approximately 25,000 documents.
