Visual arts
The DRAC contributes to the definition and regional implementation of the policy of the Ministry of Culture in the visual arts sector.
The missions of the DRAC
The DRAC’s missions in the field of visual arts are:
- support for contemporary creation (Individual creative support, 1% artistic...);
- support for the dissemination of contemporary works;
- Support for the transmissi;we have knowledge : higher arts education and training.
Within the DRAC’s Creative Division, advisors for the visual arts are involved in all areas of plastic creation (painting, sculpture, photography, design, decorative arts, digital creation and crafts).
Visual Arts Advisors:
- provide advice, expertise and evaluation of their sector’s guidelines to local authorities;
- support the creation and territorial dissemination of contemporary works and promote the convergence of contemporary art actors in the region;
- support training in art schools;
- provide the necessary information to creators to facilitate their working conditions and their professional integration;
- monitor the activity of operators, art colleges, art centers and FRAC;
- promote cooperation between different regional actors;
- adjudicate grant applications;
- ensure the monitoring of public artistic commissions and 1% artistic and investment programs for the creation of artist workshops.
