The Performing Arts in the Pays de la Loire region
The DRAC, alongside the local authorities, accompanies and follows the projects of the institutional structures and artists of the region.
Some of these structures are labelled or agreed upon, as they meet the specifications of the missions and specifications defined by the L Actiberty of the Creation, to the HASrchitecture and at Patrimonk (CASL). Particular attention is paid to the network of scenes set up in the regions.
The scenes nnational
Bringing together the former houses of culture, cultural action centres and cultural development centres, the network of national stages was unified by the label «Scène nationale» in 1991. Its award recognizes the commitment of a structure to provide sustainable equal access for the greatest number of people to a multidisciplinary artistic offer in a territory extended to the most remote living areas of downtown. They are now 74, spread over the entire national territory.
The Pays de la Loire region has 4 national stages that meet the mission specifications and specifications for the «Scène nationale» label.
- The Unique Place (Nantes)
- The Great R (La Roche-sur-Yon)
- The Theatre (Saint-Nazaire)
- Le Carré (Château-Gontier)
The conventional sceneswomen
The conventioned scenes are places of diffusion and artistic production. They meet the Terms of Reference and Terms of Reference for the name “National Interest Convention Stage”.
The DRAC Pays de la Loire supports and accompanies part of the artistic or cultural project of these places. It implements the national objectives of diversification of the field of aesthetics proposed to the public, the commitment to contemporary creation, the politics of the public.
The support provided by the Ministry of Culture and the relevant agreements in all cases concern a specific programme of actions. It therefore does not constitute aid for the operation of the structure but support for identified activities on a triennial basis.
The other places accompanyDRAC
– Atheno Athénor: nomadic stage of diffusion and creation in Saint-Nazaire, presents all the forms of the live performance (theatre, music, dance).
Support for arts companiess and regions
Support for independent creation is a major thrust of the Ministry of Culture’s policy in favour of the performing arts. This support encourages the production of works proposed by artists or artistic teams throughout the country and contributes to the dissemination of these works.
It promotes creation in the diversity of its forms and the plurality of its aesthetics. It promotes projects and activities that contribute to the transmission and renewal of repertoires, as well as to the evolution of forms and expressions.
The aim of this aid scheme is also to ensure that artists and teams in all parts of the country can find ways of developing their creative work and making it available to the widest possible audience. This ambition of national influence must be assessed region by region, given the scale and diversity of the artistic activity for each area concerned
